Ubuntu Weekly #38

an update from the Greensboro Truth and Reconciliation Commission
No. 38 – Nov. 8, 2005

Greetings,

This week we celebrate the hour Commissioners and staff had with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, where we received blessings, encouragement, advice and the gift of his wonderfully playful spirit. We also celebrate the 145 people who joined us in devoting a sunny and warm Saturday to talking about some dark and difficult issues.

  • Volunteer of the Week: Commissioner Pat Clark of the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Nyack, N.Y., whose service as host and leader of our team of Community Dialogue volunteers is part of her much-appreciated commitment to this historic work – in a community that’s not her own.

  • This week’s progress indicator: We saw lots of new faces at our Dialogue, including critics, skeptics and local officials.
