Community Dialogue

All Greensboro community members are invited to register for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Community Dialogue. Here are the details:

Saturday, November 5, 2005
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church
1301 Alamance Road

The goals of this event are:
· To give the community a voice in the Commission’s final report recommendations
· To help the community, including the Commission, to better understand the issues surrounding the events of Nov. 3, 1979, and how they are connected to our present and future.
· To lay a foundation for community bridge building over time.

Participants will be divided into small groups led by skilled facilitators to discuss the following topics:
· Reactions to the public hearings (a video summarizing the hearings will be shown during the event so it is not necessary that participants attended the hearings)
· Identifying issues from 1979 that still need to be addressed
· Brainstorming ideas for how Greensboro institutions and individuals can approach these issues

To register, please email or call the GTRC Office at 275-6462 or
phyllis@greensborotrc.org.

If you are an experienced facilitator and would like to volunteer your time at this event, visit here for more information and email me.

If you would like to volunteer for other aspects of this event, please contact phyllis@greensborotrc.org.
